Product Update — June 2026: Radiology Module (RIS), AI Note Translation & CommuChat

MedicalMet's June 2026 update brings a full radiology information system (RIS) to the platform. Your clinic can now raise a radiology order, attach a referral letter, assign a radiology performer, and bill for the scan — all inside the same record you already use. The RIS connects to your imaging machines through AdvaPACS using the FHIR and HL7 standards, so patient details appear on the X-ray, ultrasound, or MRI console without anyone retyping them. We also shipped AI dual-language treatment notes, the staged rollout of the MedicalMet BIZ mobile app, and a brand-new CommuChat AI chatbot. Here is everything that went live this month.

What Is the New MedicalMet Radiology Module (RIS)?

A radiology information system is the software that manages the imaging side of a clinic or hospital — the orders, the referrals, the performers, the billing, and the reports. Until now, clinics running imaging had to bolt on a separate system or juggle paper request forms. This month, MedicalMet ships a native radiology module (RIS) that lives inside the same patient record as your notes, invoices, and appointments.

It is built for clinics and imaging centres that run their own X-ray, ultrasound, or MRI — and for multi-disciplinary practices that want one system instead of five. Everything a radiology workflow needs is now in MedicalMet:

  • Radiology orders — raise an imaging order directly from the patient record, with the study type, urgency, and clinical notes attached.
  • Referral letters — attach or generate the referral letter so the performing radiologist has the full clinical picture.
  • Radiology performer — assign the radiographer or radiologist responsible for the study, for clean accountability and reporting.
  • Integrated billing — bill the scan through the same invoicing engine as the rest of the visit, including panel and insurance pricing.
  • Report and DICOM in one place — the final report and the images link straight back to the patient record, no separate login required.

How MedicalMet Connects to Radiology Machines (FHIR, HL7 & DICOM)

The RIS talks to your imaging hardware through AdvaPACS, a cloud PACS built for exactly this job. MedicalMet speaks the same clinical data languages as hospital systems — HL7 and FHIR — so orders and results move between MedicalMet, AdvaPACS, and your machines without manual re-entry.

Here is what that means on the clinic floor. When your radiographer starts a study, the patient's name and order details are already waiting on the machine. No retyping, no mismatched studies, no scans saved under the wrong patient. The RIS supports the imaging your clinic actually runs — X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI, plus the specialty imaging used in ophthalmology and oncology — and every scan is captured as a DICOM image, the international standard for medical imaging.

Radiology Reports and DICOM Images in One Patient Record

Once a study is done, the report and the DICOM images link directly back into MedicalMet. Your doctor opens the patient's electronic medical record and sees the imaging report alongside the treatment history — then jumps to the full DICOM viewer in AdvaPACS with a single click. No exporting to a USB drive. No emailing images between machines. The scan, the report, and the diagnosis all live in the same timeline.

Already Run Imaging? Talk to Us About RIS

If your clinic already operates an X-ray, ultrasound, or MRI, the new RIS and AdvaPACS connection can replace your standalone imaging software. Ask our team to map your current radiology workflow during a demo.

Can AI Translate Treatment Notes for Insurance Claims?

Yes. This month we added dual-language treatment notes with AI translation and PDF export. Write your notes in whatever language you think in — then export a clean, translated PDF in the language the recipient needs.

Here is the classic case. Your treatment notes are in Chinese, but the insurance company needs them in English. Before, that meant retyping the whole note or paying for a translation. Now MedicalMet translates the note with AI and exports it as a formatted PDF in seconds. The same feature helps when a government entity, an overseas insurer, or a referring specialist needs your records in a specific language.

  • Insurance claims — send English-language notes to panels and insurers even when you charted in Chinese, Malay, or another language.
  • Government submissions — produce records in the language a ministry or regulator requires.
  • Cross-border care — hand a medical-tourism patient a report they can read back home.

“Language should never be the reason a claim gets rejected or a patient walks away confused. Write once, translate in a click, export a clean PDF — that is how documentation should work.”

MedicalMet BIZ App Enters Staged Rollout

The MedicalMet BIZ app is now rolling out in stages to clinics across Southeast Asia. BIZ puts the day-to-day of running a clinic on your phone, so your team is not chained to the front-desk computer. We are releasing it in waves to keep the experience stable as more clinics come online — if you are not in the current wave yet, you are next.

BIZ is built for everyone who works in the clinic, not just management:

  • Practitioners — check the day's appointment calendar and write or review treatment notes between patients.
  • Owners — keep an eye on bookings and clinic activity from anywhere, without logging into a desktop.
  • Front desk — manage the calendar, move appointments, and stay on top of the schedule on the move.

New: CommuChat AI Chatbot for 24/7 Appointment Booking

MedicalMet now integrates with CommuChat, an AI chatbot that handles patient conversations for you around the clock. CommuChat can book and reschedule appointments automatically, answer common customer-service questions, and keep your WhatsApp moving even when nobody is watching the screen. When it hits a question it cannot solve, it asks a human to take over — so patients never hit a dead end.

For a busy clinic, that means fewer missed messages and less time glued to WhatsApp. Your patients get instant answers at 2am; your front desk only steps in for the tricky cases. Setup is guided: check out CommuChat, then contact our sales team and they will assign someone to walk you through the integration.

What Else Improved in June 2026?

Alongside the headline launches, June brought a batch of optimisations and fixes to the modules your team touches every day:

  • Patient questionnaires — the shareable questionnaire link keeps expanding, so more patients can fill in their details before they arrive and your doctor can prepare ahead of the visit.
  • Panel pricing — smoother, faster insurance panel pricing so claims and co-pays calculate correctly the first time.
  • MyInvois — reliability improvements to LHDN e-invoicing submissions, so your e-invoices clear without babysitting.
  • PDF export — more dependable PDF generation across reports, notes, and invoices, with fewer formatting surprises.
  • AutoCount integration — a more stable AutoCount sync so your accounts stay in step with your clinic.
  • Customisation and access control — more ways to tailor MedicalMet to how your clinic works, plus finer control over who can see and do what.

Every one of these updates deploys automatically to the 3,000+ healthcare professionals who trust MedicalMet across Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. No manual downloads, no downtime, no IT ticket. When your team logs in tomorrow, the radiology module, dual-language notes, and every fix in this release are already waiting for them.
